My name is Michele Fontana. I am a PhD candidate at Victoria University (Wellington, New Zealand).
I have created DIY Science Museum to explore new ways to engage people with science. It is free: if you live in (or near) Wellington and you want to take part in it, I will come to your house, or your office, or your favorite place with my objects (in pizza boxes, yes!) and I will do the DIY Science Museum for you.
You have an active role in the DIY Science Museum! The objects are not presented in a prearranged order: you decide in which order to explore the objects. And while there is a 'tour guide' (me…) who knows entertaining facts and stories, you can also share your stories and past experiences about any of the objects.
The final goal is to build a unique link between you and science, or in other words, to create your own science museum.
